No matter whether you’re going on holiday, travelling for business or jet-setting to explore the world, there is always a lot of preparation and things to remember. Is your passport valid? Have you booked an airport transfer? Have you packed enough clothes? Have you had your travel vaccinations? The latter is something that may often be overlooked, but is vitally important if you’re going to have a safe, stress-free and healthy trip. Having travel vaccinations is not just for tropical climes and jungle paradises, dangerous diseases and infections can spread through cities too!
From the illnesses that you’ve heard of like flu and chickenpox, to the ones that you might know nothing about like human papillomavirus and Japanese Encephalitis, it’s important to find out about the jabs that you need for the country that you’re visiting. You can usually find this information online, or we can help advise you about this in the pharmacy.
When you’re ready to vaccinate, contact us and visit our pharmacy travel clinic. It is a good idea to get vaccinated at least 4 - 6 weeks before travelling in order to activate the vaccination in time for your trip. Some vaccines require multiple doses, so it’s important to bear this in mind.
Injections aren’t much fun for anyone, but it’s a lot quicker, easier and more affordable than ending up poorly and in hospital whilst abroad! When you visit our travel clinic we will talk you through each step and answer any questions you may have about travel vaccinations. There’s a lot to think about before you go away, so we want to make this part as simple as possible for you!
